Elevate Your Confidence with
Precision Breast Enhancement
If you are considering breast lift surgery in London, you may be looking to restore breast shape after pregnancy, weight loss, or natural ageing. Over time, the skin and supporting tissues of the breast can stretch, leading to drooping or loss of upper fullness. Mastopexy surgery is designed to lift and reshape the breast, creating a firmer and more balanced appearance.
Mr Manaf Khatib is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon based in London and Hertfordshire, offering mastopexy surgery with a meticulous and ethical approach. Every consultation is thorough and unhurried, focused on understanding your concerns and providing clear, realistic advice.
What Is a Breast Lift?
A breast lift, medically known as mastopexy surgery, is designed to remove excess skin, reshape the underlying breast tissue and reposition the nipple to a higher, more youthful position on the breast mound.
It does not significantly increase breast size. Instead, it focuses on improving breast shape, projection and firmness. Women often consider mastopexy in London following pregnancy and breastfeeding, significant weight loss, natural ageing, reduced skin elasticity, or noticeable breast asymmetry.
During your consultation, Mr Khatib will carefully assess your skin quality, nipple position, breast volume and degree of ptosis to ensure the breast lift procedure is tailored to your anatomy and personal goals.
Benefits of Mastopexy Surgery
When carefully planned and performed, mastopexy surgery can offer several structural and aesthetic improvements, including:
- Improved breast shape and position by raising the nipple and reshaping the underlying tissue so the breasts appear firmer and better supported.
- Improved breast symmetry by adjusting skin and tissue on each side to achieve a more even appearance.
- Bras and fitted clothing often fit more comfortably due to improved breast projection and positioning.
Mr Khatib’s approach prioritises proportion and harmony. The aim is to achieve results that suit your body frame and look balanced rather than overcorrected.
All surgery carries potential risks. During your consultation, possible complications, expected scarring and recovery timelines are discussed in detail so you can make a fully informed decision. Outcomes vary by individual and are discussed in detail during consultation; you can view before-and-after photos.

The Breast Lift Procedure
The breast lift procedure is carried out in a fully accredited hospital under general anaesthesia. Surgery usually takes between two and two and a half hours, depending on the degree of lift required. Most patients return home the same day, although an overnight stay can be arranged if preferred.
Consultation
Your consultation is thorough and unhurried. Mr Khatib will take a detailed medical history, assess breast tissue, skin quality and nipple position and discuss your goals. He will explain suitable incision patterns, likely scar placement, potential risks and expected mastopexy recovery time.
You will receive clear written information to review at home. If a breast lift alone is unlikely to meet your goals, we will discuss this openly. In some cases, combining a lift with augmentation may be considered. Clear communication ensures expectations remain realistic and aligned with what surgery can safely achieve.
Procedure
The technique used in mastopexy London depends on the degree of drooping and excess skin. Incisions may be placed around the nipple, vertically to the breast crease, or in an anchor pattern for more significant ptosis.
During surgery, excess skin is removed, the breast tissue is reshaped, and the nipple and areola are repositioned to a higher, natural position. Incisions are carefully closed to support healing and long-term shape.
Recovery
Mastopexy recovery time varies, but most patients take one to two weeks off work. Light activity can resume within a few days. A supportive compression bra is worn for six weeks.
Follow-up includes a nurse review at one week and appointments at six weeks, three months and one year. Gentle walking is encouraged early. Light exercise usually resumes at two weeks, with a gradual return to full activity by three months. Swelling settles over several weeks, and scars mature over 12 to 18 months.
Results
Results after breast lift surgery in London are visible immediately, with the final shape refining over several months.
Patients typically notice a higher nipple position, firmer contour, improved projection and better symmetry. Long-term outcomes depend on skin quality, weight stability and natural ageing. Breast lift surgery before and after images are discussed during consultation to help guide expectations, recognising that individual results vary.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does a breast lift last?
The results of a breast lift are long-lasting, particularly if your weight remains stable and you do not undergo further pregnancies. While natural ageing continues, most patients enjoy improved shape and position for many years.
How does a breast lift work?
A breast lift removes excess skin, reshapes the underlying tissue and repositions the nipple to a higher position. This improves contour and firmness without significantly increasing size. The procedure is tailored to your anatomy and degree of droop. Mr Khatib’s consultant-led approach ensures careful planning and natural-looking results.
Will I have visible scars after a breast lift?
All breast lift procedures involve scars, but their placement depends on the technique used. Scars usually fade and soften over time, though they remain permanent. During consultation, incision patterns and likely scar locations are explained clearly. Mr Khatib focuses on meticulous technique to support optimal healing.
Will a breast lift change my breast size?
A breast lift primarily changes shape and position rather than size. Some women notice a slightly smaller cup size due to the removal of excess skin. If increased volume is desired, augmentation may be discussed. Experienced Consultant Plastic Surgeon, Mr Khatib, offers honest, ethical guidance on whether additional procedures are appropriate.
How much does breast lift surgery cost?
Breast lift surgery costs vary based on surgical complexity, hospital fees and whether additional procedures are combined. You will receive a transparent quotation after consultation.
